AAS1X: alternating A-stars with one X-tie, the sum over A vertices of g(A-degree) times their X-degree. For two-level (multilevel) networks, as MPNet (Wang et al. 2013): the levels are the values of the vertex attribute attr, A and B (levels=(A, B), or the attribute’s two values, sorted); A-ties are within A, B-ties within B, X-ties between them. Undirected networks. decay weights the alternating statistic geometrically, as gwesp’s: g(d) = exp(decay) (1 - (1 - exp(-decay))^d), MPNet’s lambda being exp(decay) (its default, 2, is decay=log(2)). It is fixed by default, as in MPNet; with fixed=FALSE, it is estimated, as ergm’s curved terms (see Curved), for the terms with one alternating part.
